I. Member recruitment ideas
Ø March volunteer activity
o Casey Trees Endowment Fund http://www.caseytrees.org/
o Marc is the point of contact for this event
Ø Habib Koita & Bamada at Wolftrap: February 8, 2005, 8 p.m.
o Tickets are $22
o Angie Wilkins is spearheading an initiative to get discounted group tickets. At the moment, Wolftrap has agreed to waive the ticket fee for FOM members.
o Group travel needs to be arranged
Ø Nalgene bottles for the departing stage
o Jumana will liaise with PCM
o Marc will create labels displaying FOM website and stage COS date
§ Jumana still has several boxes of Nalgene bottles left
Ø Marc will compile a list of new RPCVs in D.C. area
Ø Double-check the listserv to ensure that members are receiving e-mails
II. Regional representatives
Ø Request suggestions for representatives in NYC and San Francisco
§ Duties include: serve as FOM contact, coordinate 3-4 happy hours per year, liaise with D.C.; one year commitment
Ø Expand regional representation if possible to Florida, Chicago, and Denver
Ø Seattle, Portland, Boston, and Washington representatives are active
III. Website maintenance
Ø Post FOM t-shirts for sale
Ø Post request for newsletter editor
Ø Request for new material on webpage (e.g., photos, articles, and links)
Ø The website administrator’s username and admin password were discussed
Ø Jeff will distribute statistics detailing website trends in November
IV. Additional points
Ø General discussion about the goals and future role of FOM
Ø Centralize information dissemination by using the website calendar and announcements board
Ø Suggest that individuals mention FOM when donating to PC Partnership projects. (This will allow FOM to track the significance of its efforts.)
Ø Should we continue using Ready-Call for FOM board meetings or use a web-based chat group?
Ø Should we consider paying someone to put the newsletter together?
