KickStart designs and markets low-cost equipment purchased by entrepreneurs in Africa who use them to start profitable new businesses, increase their family wealth and boost local economic growth. (www.KickStart.org). The organization is recruiting for a qualified, enthusiastic bi-lingual volunteer to assist us full-time over a 3-4-month period with implementing marketing activities. The volunteer will be based in Bamako with occasional travel within Mali. Opportunity The volunteer will be assisting in implementing marketing activities that focus on increasing our pump sales. Specifically, the deliverables for the volunteer will be: • Help develop and execute short term marketing communications to ensure sales growth, including merchandising in store, point of sale, media and advertising. • Communication with outside advertising agency on ongoing marketing campaigns, promotions, field days, and agricultural shows. • Agency and vendor liaison on promotional activities, ensuring top quality and timely production of marketing materials/collaterals - whilst paying attention to brand guidelines and colour specs. • Oversee translation of promotional materials. • PR support – media liaison. Qualifications • Must have in depth understanding of the various materials used in producing print marketing collaterals and ability to discern and recommend quality materials • Ability to help produce radio scripts, documentaries that are captivating and write up articles for publication • Meticulous, excellent writing skills, creativity and attentive to details • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills – a complete team player • Exceptional planning, organizational and analytical skills • Results/Performance Orientation – proven “self-starter” • Ability to work in a dynamic and unstructured environment • A relevant university degree • Fluent French and English speaker How to apply If you believe you have what it takes to handle this opportunity, kindly email your one page application letter and CV in English to hr.mali@kickstart.org by 17th July 2009.
